Fault codes from all control units
Engine, gearbox, ABS, airbags, electrics — not just the engine. Active codes and those stored in history.
The engine light is only a symptom. I connect a diagnostic computer, read fault codes from all control units and live data, then check the suspect component with an actuator test and a measurement. That way you do not replace parts blindly, and you know whether you can keep driving.
The light comes back if the cause stays.
A fault code points to a circuit or system where something is wrong — not always to a specific part. Clearing the code turns the light off but does not remove the cause, and often it comes back within days.
So after reading the codes I take a second step: live data (how the sensor, mixture and temperature behave) and actuator tests, which means operating components from the computer: the EGR valve, throttle, fan, an injector. Then you can see whether the component reacts as it should.
Finally I tell you plainly: whether you can keep driving or must stop, what the cause is and what the repair may cost.
From reading the code to testing a specific component.
Engine, gearbox, ABS, airbags, electrics — not just the engine. Active codes and those stored in history.
How sensors and the system behave while running: temperatures, pressures, mixture corrections.
Operating components from the computer (e.g. EGR valve, throttle, fan, injectors), where the car model allows it.
When a test or data raises doubt, I measure supply, earth and signal — before I suggest replacing anything.
Lambda sensors, EGR, catalytic converter: whether the car will pass the MOT.
I tell you whether the fault is dangerous or can wait, and what to do next.
I do not switch off or "permanently clear" the DPF, EGR or AdBlue — it is illegal and the car will not pass the MOT. If the cause is a clogged system, I will say so plainly.
If the fault needs a workshop (engine mechanics, a ramp), I will say so before any repair begins.
The price is simple: call-out plus work. I quote the total by phone before I set off.
| Item | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Computer diagnostics | from 80 zł | Reading fault codes and control-unit data |
| Call-out | 150 zł | Within 50 km of Grodzisk Mazowiecki |
| Fault finding and repair | 150 zł per started hour | When a service has no fixed price |
| Weekend work | +20% | Saturday and Sunday |
| Urgent night call-out | price by phone | Agreed before I set off |
Parts are not included in the labour price. I quote before I set off — never after the fact.
From symptoms to an identified cause.
You describe what is lit and how the car behaves — drives normally, jerks, loses power. I tell you straight away whether you can drive and quote the price.
I come to the agreed place, connect the computer and read the fault codes and data from all control units.
I check the suspect component with an actuator test and a measurement of supply, earth and signal.
I explain the result in plain language. I repair on site if possible, and if not I say plainly what next.
Question not here? Call me — I will answer straight away.
A warning light rarely comes on for no reason.
Measurement and readout first, then the sensor is replaced — right where the car is.
I find the cause by measuring: current drain, shorts, open circuits, intermittent faults.
A full control-unit scan for any car, not only hybrids.
Describe the symptoms and the car — I will tell you whether it is worth me coming.
Real repairs, not a brochure
I film what I actually do — including the jobs that did not go my way.
